France announce squad for October international break; Kylian Mbappe left out

Les Bleus will face Israel & Belgium in UEFA Nations League matches.
Didier Deschamps, the manager of the France national team, unveiled his team this Thursday afternoon for the Les Bleus’ October Nations League games.
The France manager has recalled Christopher Nkunku of Chelsea after longtime attacking midfielder Antoine Griezmann announced his retirement from international duty. For the first time in almost a year, the former RB Leipzig player is back in the France squad. Nkunku has only made 10 appearances for the national team.
Another Chelsea star, Wesley Fofana has also made the cut this time after missing plenty of France matches due to injuries.
Meanwhile, William Saliba and Ibrahima Konaté have also been picked up for the October matches, while Ferland Mendy didn’t receive the call-up. Instead of Mendy, Lucas Digne was included in the squad who will be Theo Fernandez’s backup after impressing against Belgium in September.
After making his comeback for Real Madrid on Wednesday on the back of a femoral biceps injury, France skipper Kylian Mbappé is out of the team to give him a thorough recovery.
France are scheduled to play two away matches in the A2 group of the Nations League. They will resume their campaign after prevailing against Belgium and succumbing to Italy last month. Les Bleus will play Israel in Budapest on October 10 before facing Belgium at Brussels’ Stade Roi Baudouin four days later.
