Full list of performers for FIFA World Cup 2026 Canada opening ceremony

The USA’s opening ceremony for the FIFA World Cup 2026 is scheduled for Saturday, June 13.

The FIFA World Cup is unarguably one of the most highly anticipated sporting tournaments for fans worldwide. After four years, the tournament has returned with a spark, taking place across three nations: Mexico, Canada, and the USA.

The summer competition was kick-started at the Mexico City Stadium on June 11 with a memorable opening ceremony. The ceremony was headlined by Colombian pop star Shakira and Nigerian artist Burna Boy, who performed “Dai Dai”, the FIFA World Cup’s official song for the ongoing edition.

Alongside Shakira and Burna Boy, other musicians and celebrities, Alejandro Fernandez, Tyla, J Balvin, Ryan Castro, Andrea Bocelli, Belinda, Danny Ocean, Lila Downs, Los Ángeles Azules, and Mana also performed at the opening ceremony at the Estadio Azteca.

Later, football action also commenced as co-hosts Mexico took on South Africa. The match was action-packed, and Mexico got a winning start to their World Cup campaign with a 2-0 triumph over Bafana Bafana, who were down to 9 men until the final moments.

Meanwhile, after the Mexico opening ceremony, the Canada event is set to take place at the BMO Field in Toronto on June 12. The national anthem of Canada will be sung by Alanis Morissette, while Aleksandar Gajic will sing Bosnia & Herzegovina’s national anthem.

The opening ceremony will be followed by Canada’s World Cup opener against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thus, below is the list of performers at the FIFA World Cup 2026 Canada opening ceremony.
