Who will captain Germany at FIFA World Cup 2026?

Julian Nagelsmann announced the final Germany squad on May 21.

The DFB team have now unveiled their final 26-man roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They are placed in Group E for their test on the world stage.

After winning the 2014 edition of FIFA’s flagship tournament, the Germany national football team were elimated from the group stages in 2018 and 2022. Since the appointment of Julian Nagelsmann as the new head coach, they have started performing better.

Their performances in the last few games have been top-notch. They will be looking to carry their form heading into the mega competition.

Before the World Cup, the DFB team are going to compete in two international friendly games. One against Finland and the other one will be against the United States of America.

Canada, Mexico and the USA are going to be hosting the matches for the FIFA World Cup 2026. The tournament is set to begin on June 11. The final will take place on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Who will be Germany’s captain?

The Bayern Munich midfielder, Joshua Kimmich, is going to wear the captain’s armband for the Germany national football team during the upcoming edition of FIFA’s flagship tournament.

The 31-year-old is doing a good job for the Bundesliga giants. He will now be looking to continue to lead the DFB Team under Julian Nagelsmann. Kimmich can help control the game well, making him a major addition for the team.

The intensity of the performances is surely going to matter. They are placed in Group E along with the likes of Curacao, Ivory Coast and Ecuador. This will not be an easy group stage campaign for them, but their recent performances suggest that the Germans are going to get through.
