Germany announce squad for Novermber international break; Stefan Ortega gets first call-up

Die Mannschaft will face Bosnia and Herzegovina & Hungary in the UEFA Nations League games.
Germany will take part in the Nations League during the November international break, and coach Julian Nagelsmann has announced his squad.
Stefan Ortega, the goalie for Manchester City, is called up to the national squad for the first time. The former Arminia Bielefeld goalie will take Janis Blaswich’s place as the third choice, after Oliver Baumann and Alexander Nübel.
Both Julian Brandt and Felix Nmecha of Borussia Dortmund are called up to the national squad. Brandt last played for Germany a year ago, and Nmecha hasn’t been in the team for more than a year and a half.
The latter was last called up in March 2023. One may argue that, in contrast to Nmecha, Brandt’s performance for Dortmund makes him unworthy of a call-up.
Benjamin Henrichs, Kai Havertz, Robin Koch, and Jamal Musiala all rejoined the team after missing the October squad because of injuries.
Germany are currently at top of the group A3 with ten points. A win in both these upcoming matches will see them advance further in the competition. They are five points ahead of second-place Netherlands. During their October matches, they had a 2-1 win against Bosnia and Herzegovina followed by a narrow 1-0 win against the Dutch.
Germany have been in impressive form under the former Bayern Munich head coach and will hope to end the Nations League’s last two matches with positive results.
