Flick has a great relationship with Deco and Laporta.
Hansi Flick is keen on Deco and Laporta leading the club, according to a recent MARCA news. He would even consider staying at the club longer if Laporta were to win reelection as president.
The current president and manager have already talked about it, but no formal confirmation will be released until July 1st, when Laporta would retake office if he wins.
However, Hansi Flick will reevaluate his future with the club and his role as head coach if a new president is elected. He will talk to the new applicant, but right now, it’s more likely that he will step down before even finishing the next year of his contract.
Hansi Flick to leave Barcelona if there is a change of presidency?

Victor Font, the presidential candidate, has already stated publicly that if he wins, he will keep Hansi Flick in charge, although the manager is less explicit on the subject. It is so unclear whether the German coach will remain after this season, even if Font is chosen.
As a result, a lot depends on the outcome of the next elections, including the stability of the team, the project, and the management. Although Laporta is the clear favourite, nothing is guaranteed.
Tensions are starting to surface regarding Barcelona‘s mission and how things might alter if a new leader takes over as the club’s presidential elections draw closer.
Although Joan Laporta’s tenure has not been without its problems, the president has made efforts to assist the squad in overcoming its difficult financial circumstances. With a vibrant project and a solid young core, Laporta has returned them to the big stage.
It goes without saying that Hansi Flick is a key component of Laporta’s project. Since the German coach views himself as a part of Laporta’s project, the outcome of the election might therefore have a significant impact on his future at the club.
When is the Barcelona presidential election?
It’s on Sunday, 15 March 2026.
Who are the candidates?
Víctor Font, Xavi Vilajoana, Marc Ciria, and Joan Laporta.
