Harry Kane is in a race to be fit for the UEFA Champions League game after the Belgian coach declared he won’t be playing against SC Freiburg.
Due to an ankle injury, Harry Kane, Bayern Munich’s top scorer, is running out of time to get healthy for the much-awaited Champions League match versus Real Madrid.
The 32-year-old striker missed England’s 0–1 friendly loss to Japan on Tuesday night at Wembley due to an ankle ailment sustained during training.
Harry Kane set to miss Bundesliga game on Saturday

The head coach of Bayern Munich, Vincent Kompany, stated that Kane will not be able to play in his team’s Bundesliga game against SC Freiburg on Saturday. But he expressed optimism that the player could be able to visit Spain.
Kompany commented at a press conference on Friday, “Harry trained well until Sunday, then he felt something in his ankle while he was with the national team. That will affect tomorrow’s match, and he won’t be available.”
He added, “Nevertheless, I’m optimistic about Tuesday’s match (against Real Madrid). Of course it’s not an ideal situation—I would have liked him to play against Freiburg—but given the current situation, that won’t be possible.”
With 53 goals for his club and nation in 45 games this season, Harry Kane has put up impressive numbers. The Bavarian team, which leads the Bundesliga by nine points over its nearest rival, Borussia Dortmund, are extremely concerned about his possible absence.
In the opening leg of the Champions League quarterfinals, Bayern Munich will play Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu on Tuesday. The return leg will take place in Munich eight days later.
