Harry Kane keeps demonstrating why he is among the world’s top attackers. The English attacker scored again in Bayern Munich’s most recent UEFA Champions League triumph, surpassing both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in a remarkable statistical milestone.

On Matchday 3 of the Champions League, Bayern easily defeated Club Brugge 4-0, moving them to second place in the league phase table. In addition to earning a place in the record books, Kane’s goal was the team’s second of the evening.

With that goal, Kane surpassed the pace set by Messi and Ronaldo at their best, reaching 20 goals in a mere twelve matches for Bayern Munich this season in all competitions.

Kane surpasses Messi & Ronaldo’s record

Ronaldo required 13 games to reach the 20-goal milestone during the 2013–14 season with Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Lionel Messi did so three times with Barcelona in 17 games.

The former Tottenham player has established himself as one of the best forwards in the league by topping the Bundesliga and Champions League scoring statistics. His most recent goal also put him in 18th position all-time, above Didier Drogba and Antoine Griezmann, with 45 goals in Europe’s premier tournament.

This season, Harry Kane has accomplished more than just that. Earlier this month, the England captain scored 100 goals for a single club in just 104 games, making him the fastest player to reach that feat in all five of Europe’s top leagues. He surpassed the previous record set by Erling Haaland and Cristiano Ronaldo, who both needed 105 games to reach the century milestone.

Kane is also attempting to accomplish another incredible achievement that has only ever been accomplished by two players. The Bayern striker has now scored in eight straight games, getting closer to Ronaldo and Haaland’s record of 12 games in a row.
