The England striker has been in terrific form this season.

Harry Kane is prepared to join Pele in history. If the England captain scores against Albania at the Arena Kombetare, he would equal the legendary Brazilian with 77 international goals.

It doesn’t really matter that Harry Kane will be performing his 112th game in Tirana, while Pelé reached that number in 92 games. Kane’s club and national statistics, both historical and current, are simply astounding.

His goal is still to win a significant trophy with England, which could see him taking home the Ballon d’Or, the ultimate individual honour. In 17 games for Bayern Munich this season, striker Kane has so far scored 23 goals.

With 23 goals in 17 games this season, Bayern Munich star Harry Kane has made it clear that one of his top aims is to win the Ballon d’Or.

However, according to Harry Kane, the team that wins the World Cup or Champions League titles is always the winner of football’s esteemed individual award.

Kane, who is already England’s record scorer with 76 goals from 111 caps, said: “I could score 100 goals this season but if I don’t win the Champions League or the World Cup, you’re probably not going to win the Ballon d’Or.”

Kane is also getting closer to being one of the greatest football players of all time. Pele scored 77 goals in 92 caps for Brazil, and the England striker acknowledges that he adores such goals and historical moments.

Kane added: “To be around a name like Pele speaks for itself. Sometimes when you’re in it, it’s hard to process some of the names you’re around or the things you’re achieving. You just want to go onto the next one.”

Tonight, Harry Kane is the captain of England against Albania in their final World Cup qualifying match in Tirana.
