The English star has won plenty of individual awarsds
The phrase “Harry Kane Trophy curse” has plagued Tottenham and Bayern Munich supporters in addition to England supporters for the past ten years. How come such a talented player has never taken home a trophy?
It’s incomprehensible. Having broken the all-time scoring record, won the World Cup Golden Boot, and emerged one of just three players to have scored more than 200 goals in the Premier League, the Three Lions captain is perhaps his nation’s greatest-ever centre-forward. His skill set makes him the most complete striker you could ask for. It is illogical in the extreme.
Even if football curses are debatable, Kane has a long history of near-misses. Will he finally break through tonight?
The last major trophy that Tottenham won was a League Cup in 2008. In 2009, Kane made his official debut as a senior Tottenham player.
Kane spent the first half of the 2012–13 campaign on loan at Norwich City before returning to Leicester City for the second half. The future star of England was in the playoffs, fighting for a chance to play in the Premier League as the Foxes pursue promotion.
His exploits saw him get signed by Tottenham where he spent half of his prime years playing for them and came close to winning the Champions League and Premier League but always failed short of winning it.
He finally decided to leave Spurs and joined Bayern Munich, but unexpected happened as Bayern went trophyless last season as Kane continued his search for a trophy.
Now with England in the final of Euro 2024, he will have a chance to finally end his trophy curse.
Harry Kane says he would swap all his records to win Euro 2024
In order to lead England to victory at the European Championship in Berlin on Sunday, Harry Kane declared he would “swap everything” he has accomplished in his professional life.
After losing to Italy at Wembley Stadium in 2021, Kane lost again this time to Spain in the 2024 Euros final.
Kane tops the Tottenham Hotspur goal statistics with 280 goals and is England’s all-time top goalscorer with 66 goals in 97 appearances, winning a World Cup Golden Boot.
