The Brazilian’s deal will expire at the end of the 2025-26 season.
Casemiro’s contract with Manchester United is officially scheduled to expire at the end of this season. But he may be eligible for an extension. Meanwhile, United may see a lot of major players depart during the summer transfer window in 2026.
Unless there are unforeseen circumstances about a new contract for the two seasoned leaders, Casemiro and Harry Maguire are both scheduled for an exit.
Additionally, Bruno Fernandes is anticipated to look for a way out. His £57 million release clause is probably going to draw interest from Europe and beyond.
There is a possibility, nevertheless, that the Brazilian will receive an extension. According to recent sources from Brazil, Casemiro is expected to leave United. The player has generated interest from American and Saudi Arabian teams.
His future is far from certain, though, as Laurie Whitwell recently revealed for The Athletic that Casemiro can use games played to activate an extra-year option in his United deal.
The 35-game start clause

Casemiro is thought to need to start 35 games overall this season in order to initiate that deal with United, which at this point appears improbable.
The 33-year-old must start each of Michael Carrick’s 17 games in charge because he has started 18 games so far this season.
Whitwell further revealed that Casemiro has been consistent in the league, but this still makes it extremely unlikely that United will see that option activated.
To earn it, though, he must continue to be flawless in terms of his cards, performance, and level of fitness. Although it remains to be seen, the midfielder has fared brilliantly so far this season.
