How did Galatasaray star Noa Lang suffer an unusual injury vs Liverpool at Anfield?

The Dutch midfielder suffered a horrific injury during the game.
During Wednesday’s Champions League loss to Liverpool at Anfield, Galatasaray player Noa Lang had an unusual injury. According to his club, he had a “severe laceration” on one of his fingers.
Noa Lang appeared to snag his thumb on an advertisement hoarding at the stadium’s Anfield Road End during the final moments of the second leg of the last-16 tie, leaving him writhing in agony and grasping his right hand.
After a struggle for the ball with Curtis Jones of Liverpool, the Dutch international seemed to sustain a deep cut when he put his hands on top of the hoarding in an attempt to slow down his body’s movement.
Doctors from both sides had to spend many minutes tending to Noa Lang, who had replaced Sacha Boey at halftime. After that, he was carried to a nearby hospital.
Italian forward Mauro Icardi took the 26-year-old’s spot.
After the game, Okan Buruk, the head coach of Galatasaray, stated, “Noa has a serious finger injury. He will first go to a hospital here; he will be examined as soon as possible. It’s a bad injury to his finger.”
