The Frenchman is currently the top scorer of Los Blancos this season.
Without Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid would not be vying for the LaLiga championship. In 2024–25 LaLiga season, Real Madrid are only three points behind Barcelona at the top of the standings with nine games remaining. It has been more than 15 years since Los Blancos won consecutive LaLiga crowns, and Mbappé is essentially pushing his squad to end that streak.
In addition to being Real Madrid’s top scorer this season, the Frenchman has also helped his side achieve 18 of the team’s 63 LaLiga points. Mbappé’s goals have accounted for over one-third of Los Blancos’ points this season. The French superstar has personally provided more points to his team than any other player in the Spanish top division.
Last time Mbappé secured all three points for Los Blancos, they defeated Leganés 3–2. In the 76th minute, the 26-year-old buried a free kick to give Real Madrid the victory after opening the scoring with a penalty.
Mbappé scored two goals in Real Madrid’s 1-2 victory over Villarreal in the previous game. He is frequently the lone scorer, even when he does not score game-winning goals.
Mbappé scored the lone goal for his club in their 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid and Osasuna. The two points could be crucial in determining who will win LaLiga in May.
Along the way, Mbappé is also pursuing a few personal honours. During his first season with Real Madrid, the former captain of Paris Saint-Germain scored 33 goals in all competitions, matching the record set by Cristiano Ronaldo. To surpass Ronaldo’s feat, the Frenchman needs just one more goal.
If Mbappé breaks Iván Zamorano’s record of 37, he will actually have the best debut campaign of any individual in Real Madrid history.
Putting individual records aside, if Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid team hope to successfully defend both their Spanish and European titles, Mbappé needs to keep performing at the most crucial times, and he could also go on to win his first-ever Ballon d’Or.
