Most names in the English squad are from the Premier League.

Thomas Tuchel has now announced England’s final roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Even though there are a lot of big stars included. Some of the top names are left out.

The England national football team have secured FIFA’s flagship trophy only once, back in 1966. For the upcoming edition, they are one of the favourites to win the tournament. Before stepping foot on the grandest stage of them all, Thomas Tuchel’s men will have a face-off against New Zealand and Costa Rica in what are going to be international friendly games.

Names like Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Marcus Rashford and others have received a call-up. Most of the players in the English squad are from the English Premier League (21). Then there are two stars each from LaLiga and Bundesliga. The Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli’s Ivan Toney has also been included in the final 26-man squad to represent England at the FIFA World Cup 2026.

For the first time since the 1986 World Cup, there will be no Liverpool player in an England squad for a major tournament. This is quite a setback for one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League.

But Liverpool youngster Rio Ngumoha will join the Blue Tigers’ training camp for the tournament.

As the players from Arsenal are going to join late due to their involvement in the UEFA Champions League final on May 30. The names include Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze. Instead, some young Premier League players, Rio Ngumoha (Liverpool), Josh King (Fulham) and Alex Scott (Bournemouth) are going to be included for the preparations.

Thomas Tuchel said, “We will take some young players out who will train with us and keep the squad at the size we need so we have all the possibilities for the two friendly matches to take care about the minutes and load of the players. Alex Scott is confirmed, Rio Ngumoha is confirmed, and Josh King, and there will be one more player which we cannot name because it has not been confirmed yet.”
