Chelsea are ready to face PSG in the final of the mega event.

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup began with a total of 32 teams from all over the world battling it out to be named the best club. This is the first time that the mega competition is being held with this many teams. The tournament is taking place in the United States of America.

The next year’s FIFA World Cup is also set to take place in the North America region, which includes the United States, Canada and Mexico. Despite all the challenges, every team has played well, but it is now down to Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup. One of these clubs will go on to clinch the prestigious trophy and substantial prize money.

But all of that did not stop the former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp from criticising the FIFA Club World Cup.

During his interview with the German newspaper Die Welt, Klopp mentioned the mega competition as “the worst idea ever invented.”

Arsene Wenger’s reply to Jurgen Klopp

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is currently FIFA’s chief of global football development. During a FIFA Technical Study Group (TSG) briefing in New York recently, Wenger countered the views shared by Jurgen Klopp.

Wenger said, “Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and I don’t share Jurgen Klopp’s view at all.”

“I feel that a Club World Cup, a REAL Club World Cup was needed. If you make an inquiry today with all the clubs who were here at this competition, I’m basically sure that we have 100% of answers of people who want to do this again. So that’s basically the best answer.”

He also addressed the problems faced by the clubs due to the extreme weather conditions in the United States. Wenger mentioned that FIFA fought it with added cooling breaks and also by watering the ground during the breaks.

Arsene Wenger also talked about the FIFA World Cup 2026. He mentioned that there will be more stadiums which will have a roof to fight against such extreme weather conditions, as it does affect a player’s performance while being on the pitch.

As per the former Arsenal manager, the most challenging pitch conditions were experienced in Orlando. But he also commended the quality of the natural grass pitches.
