The former Chelsea has been linked with the Manchester United job
Manchester United-linked Thomas Tuchel has hinted that it would be “very unlikely” for him to remain with Bayern Munich after the season ends and that he would return to the Premier League.
Tuchel is scheduled to depart Bayern at the end of the current campaign, and the German’s name has been mentioned as a potential replacement as United struggles under Erik ten Hag.
The supporters of the Bundesliga team are pleading the former Chelsea coach to stay, but Tuchel has stated that he is leaving this summer and may consider returning to the Premier League.
When asked about being linked with United, Tuchel told TNT Sports: “I’d rather not answer but it is no secret that I loved it at Chelsea. I loved it in England and I loved it in the Premier League for sure, it was a very, very special time and I remember it very well.”

“It’s very, very, very unlikely that it’s at Bayern. We took this position and there’s a pact we are not doubting, the initiative came from the club and so it is and I’m fine with it”, told TNT Sports.
He added on talk of him staying on at Allianz Arena to coach a star-studded squad led by Harry Kane: “It’s very, very, very unlikely that it’s at Bayern [next season], I have to say, because we have an agreement, there is at the moment no reason to doubt this agreement. We took this position, the initiative came from the club, and so it is and I’m fine with it.
I don’t need it for the extra percentage of competitiveness because I’m always up for a win, I’m always thinking how to improve the squad or how to improve myself in coaching. We go all in. Does it have an influence on where I am next season? Maybe not, maybe I’m on holiday no matter what, let’s see, let’s see.”
Bayern’s search for their next manager continues
In their attempts to succeed Tuchel, Bayern have had a terrible time, as Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, and Ralf Rangnick have all turned down the opportunity to lead the German powerhouses.
Given that Tuchel is a free agent this summer and that United have struggled under Ten Hag, the Red Devils may find themselves drawn to the former PSG coach.
Tuchel is also allegedly on their list of contenders in the event that Ten Hag is fired. Tuchel’s desire to manage in the Premier League once more is evident, as he lifted the Champions League with Chelsea.
