Former Man City star Ilkay Gundogan agrees to leave Barcelona: Report

The midfielder is looking to return to Manchester City.
In a new development regarding Barcelona’s last summer signing Ilkay Gundogan, the club have reached an agreement with the midfielder to allow the player to leave this transfer window.
This has come as strange news as the midfielder joined last season. He has another year left on his contract. It will be odd to see the player leave after just a year at the club.
The midfielder’s future at the Spanish club has been doing rounds over the past weeks. Now it appears the player is on his way out. This is despite the midfielder and his camp always maintaining that they want to continue at the club.
But there have been speculations that the German midfielder held talks with new head coach Hansi Flick regarding his future. He was told that he won’t be a regular starter under Flick this season.
This has led to the midfielder considering his future at the club. Now it seems the player might leave the club. It is believed that he has already agreed to depart the Spanish club.
Now once the transfer window comes to an end, the player is expected to be not a part of the Barcelona squad there on. The former Manchester City star will now have to look for his new club.
So far there aren’t any clubs looking to sign him. However, recent reports state that Gundogan is exploring a possible return to his former side City.
Galatasaray are interested in signing the player but only when he becomes a free agent. Even Al-Nassr could look to acquire the midfielder. Once the former Borussia Dortmund player leaves it will open the door for Barcelona to register new signing Dani Olmo.
