Inter Milan's all transfers completed so far in 2024-25

Nerazzurri are heavy favourites to win the Serie A title again.

With the 2024–25 season fast approaching, reigning Serie A champions Inter Milan are currently in the middle of their summer pre-season preparations in order to win multiple trophies in the upcoming campaign.

In the 2023-24 season, Inter Milan claimed their 20th Italian league title along with the Italian Super Cup. Under manager Simone Inzaghi, Inter have been a force to reckon with not just in Italy but all of world football.

In recent seasons, due to the club’s complicated financial situation, Inter Milan have been tight pocketed during transfer windows, primarily executing loan deals with potential buy option clauses or exploring the free agent market.

The Italian giants commenced their business in similar fashion this summer. They activated the buy option clauses for Davide Frattesi, Carlos Augusto and Marko Arnautovic following their successful loan spells at the club for a total transfer package of €50 million.

The Inter board also completed the smart recruitment of talented Spanish goalkeeper Josep Martínez from Genoa in order to provide much-needed competition in goal to veteran shot stopper Yan Sommer. In Serie A last season, Martínez registered a respectable eight clean sheets in 36 league appearances.

In addition, Inter secured the incredible double free transfer swoop of Piotr Zieliński and Mehdi Taremi, beating a host of top clubs for their signature in the process. Both Zieliński and Taremi had left Napoli and Porto respectively as free agents on the expiration of their club contracts.

At the start of the summer, a total of 20 players returned to Inter following the end of their respective loan spells at other clubs.

On the other hand, Inter Milan are yet to generate substantial revenue from outgoing transfers this summer in order to balance their record books.

The biggest departures of the transfer window so far for the Italian club came in the sales of their talented academy products, Gaetano Oristanio and Mattia Zanotti, to Venezia and FC Lugano respectively for a combined fee of just around €7 million.

Highly rated prospects such as Franco Carboni, Zinho Vanheusden, Sebastiano Esposito and Ebenezer Akinsanmiro have all been loaned out for the upcoming season.

Ageing fringe squad players such as Davy Klaassen, Stefano Sensi, Alexis Sánchez and Juan Cuadrado have all left Inter Milan as free agents on the expiration of their respective contracts in the summer.

Italian goalkeeper Emil Audero returned to his parent club, Sampdoria, following the expiration of his loan deal at the end of the season.

With Inter Milan looking to make more strategic investments, further potential incomings and outgoings are expected in the remainder of the summer transfer window.
