The Brazilian recently returned from an ACL injury.
Al-Nassr will play their bitter rivals Al-Hilal in the Riyadh Derby, which will conclude Friday’s Saudi Pro League action at King Saud University’s Al Awal Park.
After eight games of the season, Al-Nassr are in third place in the league standings, six points behind the league leaders, who have remained unbeaten this year.
Based on their results thus far, Al-Hilal truly appears to be a team that will contend for another championship this season.
The Blue Waves have won all 15 of their league and cup games to date. Their most recent triumph was a 4-1 victory over lower league team Al Tai in the King’s Cup midweek.
Jorge Jesus’s team has currently won ten straight league games, scoring two goals or more in each of those games, and giving up just six goals this season. They boast a star-studded squad that can take on any team and prevail in the match.
However, one of the most prominent stars is Neymar who recently returned from an ACL injury in the AFC Champions League Elite and had a short cameo as Al Hilal beat Al Ain 5-4 in the match. But will he play against Al Nassr?
Will Neymar play tonight against Al Nassr?
Neymar won’t be playing tonight. He has not been registered by Al Hilal for the league matches, hence he won’t play until the winter transfer window opens up. In January 2025 the club can register the forward once again.
This has been mainly due to when the player suffered an ACL injury last season and had to sit on the sidelines for the entire season. It saw Al Hilal register Neymar’s compatriot Renan Lodi for the league encounters.
However, Neymar is allowed to play in other competitions such as the AFC Champions League Elite where he made his first appearance of the season when he came on as a substitute in the match against Al Ain.
