Wilfried Zaha has been left out of the squad.

Ivory Coast’s FIFA World Cup 2026 team, which coach Emerse Fae revealed on Friday, included uncapped attacker Ange-Yoan Bonny, who only last week finished switching nationalities.

The 22-year-old Inter Milan attacker was joined by teammate forward Elye Wahi, who made a similar move earlier this year. Wahi earned his first cap for the Ivorians in their most recent match, a 1-0 victory over Scotland in Liverpool at the end of March.

Bonny and Wahi were previously capped by France at the under-21 level. Nicolas Pepe, who was left out of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) competition in Morocco at the beginning of the year, where the Ivorians were defending their championship but lost at the quarterfinals, has been called up.

Meanwhile, Wilfried Zaha, a former England international, and Sebastien Haller, the hero when they won the Cup of Nations at home in 2024, had no place in the roster. These are big omissions from the manager.

Ivory Coast will start their World Cup campaign against Ecuador on 15th June, followed by the game against Germany. They will later close the group stage against Curacao.
