After starting their title defence with a 1-0 victory over Mozambique on December 24, Ivory Coast enters the fixture level on three points at the top of Group F. Manchester United forward Amad Diallo scored the game-winning goal in the second half, ensuring a controlled but important victory for the Elephants in Marrakech.

In their first match against Gabon, Cameroon overcame their off-field problems to score early. Bryan Mbeumo slipped Karl Etta Eyong through on goal, allowing the Levante attacker to score for the first time. A VAR review verified the goal, which was Eyong’s first senior international goal and the second-fastest in Cameroon’s AFCON history.

Cameroon and the Ivory Coast are tied at three points; tonight’s match could have an impact on Group F’s power dynamics. A win would give either team a dominant lead before the final round.
