Jamal Musiala suffered a horrific injury in Bayern Munich’s clash against Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-final of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 tournament. The attacking midfielder collided with the PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and broke his ankle.
The player screamed in pain as Bayern’s medical staff covered Musiala and hobbled him off the pitch on a stretcher. It seems the forward’s return to action will take several months after he broke his ankle.
Meanwhile, Bayern suffered a 2-0 defeat against the European champions in the quarter-final, and their competition’s journey also came to an end.
Moreover, they have suffered another blow, as their star player is set to be on the sidelines for a number of months. But how long will Jamal Musiala take to return to action?
How long will Jamal Musiala be out for after a broken ankle?
It has been reported that the German international has suffered a broken left fibula. BILD says that Musiala has “damaged several ligaments” and “will likely be out for four months.”
Meanwhile, Christoph Freund delivered an “unfortunately, it doesn’t look good” assessment when asked by DAZN for an update.
Manager, Vincent Kompany has also voiced his frustration and said: “The overwhelming feeling is that I hope it’s not as bad as it looks, and that he will get through this one.”
