Japan's kit numbers for FIFA World Cup 2026 revealed

Wataru Endo will lead Japan in the World Cup!
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup right around the corner, nations and fans will be looking forward to the world’s biggest sporting spectacle.
The largest tournament to date, the World Cup, will feature a record 48 teams, with the national sides currently announcing their squads to compete for the prestigious trophy.
The Japan national football team has established themselves as one of the most consistent teams in recent World Cup editions. Despite being eliminated in the Round of 16 in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Japan were highly regarded for their exceptional performances, topping their group dubbed the “Group of Death”.
Wataru Endo is set to lead the side in the tournament, with key players like Daichi Kamada and Takefusa Kubo set to feature for the team with huge expectations upon themselves. Kaoru Mitoma was excluded from the squad after suffering a season-ending injury during his Brighton tenure.
Samurai Blue will be competing in Group F in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, considered to be the most competitive group of the tournament. Japan will be competing alongside the Netherlands, Sweden and Tunisia.
They are in great form coming into the World Cup, having defeated England and Scotland in their most recent friendlies. Japan are currently in North America, with the side playing their first match against the Netherlands on June 15.

The Samurai Blue have announced the 26-member squad for the tournament, with all key players retaining their place in the final team. The team will be led by manager Hajime Moriyasu, with the side aiming to make significant progress from their last outing.
