The Chivalrous Ones are already out of the 48-team expanded World Cup ahead of tonight’s match.

Jordan take on Argentina in their final Group J fixture in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on June 27. The Middle Eastern side already out of contention for qualification with two losses in two games, but will be playing for pride against the defending champions.

The Chivalrous Ones made their debut in the quadrennial tournament this year, but suffered a 3-1 loss to Austria in their opening game. Ali Olwan cancelled Romano Schmid’s first-half goal to level the match, but an own goal from Yazan Al-Arab and a late penalty from Marko Arnautovic sealed the defeat.

The Asian side then suffered a narrow 2-1 loss to Algeria, with Amine Gouiri scoring the winner in the 82nd minute. This left them at the bottom of the table with no points and no hope of reaching the Round of 32.

Facing one of the best attacking forces in the world, head coach Jamal Sellami starts with three centre-backs to shore up the defence. Veteran goalkeeper Yazeed Abulaila starts between the sticks.

Nizar Al-Rashdan is the main chance creator for his side, and he starts in midfield along with the Malaysia-based Noor Al-Rawabdeh. Ehsan Haddad and Mohannad Abu Taha start in the wing-back positions.

Odeh Al-Fakhouri starts in an advanced role with Ali Olwan, who has 28 goals for the national team. Al-Shabab striker Ali Azaizeh makes his first start of the tournament in the centre-forward role.
