Jose Mourinho rubbishes rumours of sensational return to Inter Milan: Report

The Portuguese coach had led Internazionale to a UEFA Champions League triumph.
The Serie A giants Inter Milan have parted ways with Simone Inzaghi after their loss against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League 2024-25 final. They also missed out on the remaining trophies this season.
Inter Milan failed to win the Serie A and Supercoppa Italiana titles this season. It was a big setback for the club. Hence, they decided to part ways with Simone Inzaghi after losing the UCL final. Inzaghi will now manage the Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal.
Under Simone Inzaghi, Internazionale went on to win a Serie A title, a couple of Coppa Italia titles and three Supercoppa Italiana titles. He also led Inter to two Champions League finals but failed to win any of them. Inzaghi had joined hands with Inter in 2021.
The Serie A giants Inter are active on the transfer market. They have already bagged deals for the Brazilian winger Luis Henrique and the Croatian midfielder Petar Sucic. Christian Chivu, the Romanian coach, is reported to be announced soon as Inter’s new head coach.
When Internazionale were looking for a new manager, with the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 being around the corner, there were rumours that Jose Mourinho, the Portuguese manager, was making a return to manage the Serie A giants. These rumours did not last long as Mourinho came up with a sharp reply on the situation.
Jose Mourinho’s Reply
Jose Mourinho is currently the manager for the Turkish side Fenerbahce, who finished in second place in the Super Lig 2024-25 season. This finish will help them play in the qualifying stage of the UEFA Champions League next season.
Jose Mourinho has come up with a reply after the rumours of making a return to Inter Milan surfaced recently. The Portuguese manager said that it is a “big lie” and also mentioned that Inter have not approached him. Mourinho further said, “There was never any contact. This is just being said because it’s what some angry fans want to hear. And so they say, it was difficult for me to leave Fener, blah blah blah.”
This was reported to be sent as a message to an Italian journalist, Ivan Zazzaroni.
