The midfielder has been playing with chronic pain in his shoulder.
According to sources, Jude Bellingham, a talented midfielder for Real Madrid, will have shoulder surgery, which could keep him out of action until the end of 2025.
Bellingham, 21, joined from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023 and has since become one of Los Blancos’ most notable players. He is presently playing for Real Madrid in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.
He scored a goal in Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Pachuca for Real Madrid. It was reported following the game that the Englishman would have surgery to treat a chronic shoulder issue.
Jude Bellingham makes a decision on his shoulder surgery
The Standard claims that Jude Bellingham personally verified the information:
“I’ve reached a point where the pain isn’t that bad, but I’m tired of playing with a bandage. I’m losing a lot of weight from sweating and I’ve decided to have the surgery after the tournament. I’ve waited a long time and my patience is running out, but the physios and doctors have been fantastic. I just want to feel free.”
In addition to Real Madrid in the season’s pivotal games, Jude Bellingham’s absence will also impact the English national team, which will be affected during the September break when England play Serbia and Andorra in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Thomas Tuchel, the Three Lions coach, will have to cope with this significant absence in midfield.
The news regarding Jude Bellingham has a significant impact on Los Blancos. Real Madrid will play again on Thursday when they go up against RB Salzburg at Lincoln Financial Field in the Club World Cup.
During his first season with Real Madrid in November 2023, Bellingham suffered a dislocated shoulder. In order to prevent wasting time for both club and country, the 21-year-old chose to play through and cope with the discomfort rather than get surgery.
Bellingham was able to play a crucial part in Los Blancos’ 2023–24 season, winning LaLiga, Champions League, and Spanish Super Cup due to the decision.
He also played for England during the Three Lions’ journey to the Euro 2024 final that summer before going back to the Spanish capital to play in Carlo Ancelotti’s final season.
Jude Bellingham had to play through it all wearing a big shoulder brace. The midfielder is eagerly awaiting the day when he can be rid of the sling and pain.
