Julian Nagelsmann extends his contract with German national team until 2026

Nagelsmann will lead German national team in Euro 2024
The DFB has announced that Germany’s manager, Julian Nagelsmann, has renewed his tenure with the national team.
He assumed temporary leadership after Hansi Flick left, and his 36-year-old term is scheduled to expire after this summer’s European Championship.
Nagelsmann signed a new contract that will keep him signed through the end of the 2026 World Cup, putting a stop to rumours that he will be joining his old club Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and other teams.
“This is a decision made with the heart. It is a great honour to coach the national team and work with the best players in the country,” he stated.
“With successful, passionate performance we have the chance to carry an entire country with us. The enthusiasm of the fans has touched me a lot. We now want to play a successful Euros at home and after that, myself and my team are very much looking forward to the challenge of the World Cup.”
At a meeting of the German Football Association’s Supervisory Board and Shareholders on Friday, the choice to retain Nagelsmann in charge was overwhelmingly approved.
