Karim Adeyemi’s performances guided Borussia Dortmund to the Champions League final last season.
Italian giants Juventus are leaving no stone unturned this summer in their preparation for the upcoming 2024-25 season. They have now initiated direct contact with Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi in order to acquire his services.
Juventus have opened initial talks with Adeyemi’s camp as they look to sign the talented forward in this transfer window. The Italian side have presented their contract proposal to Adeyemi, with the player being keen on securing the move this summer. Club-to-club discussions with Dortmund over the complete transfer package are yet to take place, with Juventus first looking to agree personal terms with the German international.
Ever since his €30 million switch from RB Salzburg in 2022, Karim Adeyemi has been a key part of the Borussia Dortmund setup. Last season, the 22-year-old dynamic forward made 34 appearances across all competitions for the club, registering five goals and two assists in the process.
His vital contributions in attack guided Dortmund all the way to the UEFA Champions League final. However, he couldn’t secure his spot in Julian Nagelsmann’s final Germany squad for Euro 2024.
Despite his blistering pace, incredible dribbling skills, and versatility up front, Adeyemi has been often criticised by the fan base for his lack of output in terms of goal contributions. On multiple occasions, he has failed to keep the necessary composure in order to clinically convert great goal-scoring opportunities.
The Old Lady view Karim Adeyemi as a long-term project who can potentially reach incredible levels in his overall game under newly appointed manager Thiago Motta.
Juventus’ recruitment in the ongoing transfer window
Juventus have kicked off their new era under Thiago Motta on the positive front, already completing four signings this summer. These include smart recruitment of Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa and Khéphren Thuram from OGC Nice for a combined deal worth €70 million.
The Serie A club are not done yet in this transfer window, as they are also eyeing up potential moves for midfielder Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta and defender Jean-Clair Todibo from OGC Nice to further bolster the overall quality of their squad.
