Atletico beat Real Madrid 5-2 in their first Madrid derby of the season.
Despite Atletico Madrid’s 5-2 win against Real Madrid in the Madrid derby, it was Koke and Vinicius Jr who made the news after confronting each other during the game.
It was one of the brutal defeats Los Blancos have ever suffered in the Madrid derby’s history, and this also hurt their chances of tightening their position at the top of the table.
Since the previous season, Los Blancos have always faltered while playing against Atletico, and once again, they came up short against their local rivals.
But the main highlight of the game, alongside the scoreline, was when Vinicius Jr and Koke indulged in a heated argument in the midst of the match, which was caught on camera.
The video has since made rounds on social media after it was captured during the match.
What really unfolded between Koke and Vinicius Jr

It was first started when Vinicius confronted Koke saying, “You always, always speaking with the press… Everything that I say to him, he’ll tell the press later.”
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe came between the two and tried to separate them. However, Koke used Mbappe in his response saying, “He’s better. He’s eating your toast [he’s eating your lunch],” Koke said, gesturing to Mbappe, while speaking to Vinicius, referencing that Mbappe has overthrown him to become the club’s main star.
While the Brazilian responded: “Of course, yes, yes. But he plays with me. So we’re going to win more,” Vinicius responded. “You’re a crybaby s***,”
Despite their drama, it was the Spanish star who got the last laugh as Atletico dismantled their rivals with a dominant display, and it was the first time in Real’s history since 1950 that they conceded five goals against Diego Simeone’s side.
Madrid will hope to make amends in their next fixture following the loss, as Xabi Alonso’s real test was full on display over the weekend. There is still a lot more work to do if they are to challenge big sides in the league and European competitions.
