Ever since inheriting the famous number 10, following the exit of Luka Modric, Mbappe’s jersey No.10 has shattered all the records of shirt sales and, especially, Cristiano Ronaldo’s previous records.

Mbappe sets a new record off the field at Madrid

According to a study by Euromericas Sport Marketing, the Frenchman’s shirts have flown off the shelves, with over 345,000 sold in the last 48 hours, breaking his previous mark with number 9 and Ronaldo’s as well.

It was evident that the arrival of Mbappe would bring plenty of revenue to the club, thanks to his high-profile status in football. Despite years of rumours, there was always hype that Mbappe’s arrival would be met with plenty of fanfare.

Many fans packed the entire Santiago Bernabeu to witness the unveiling of Mbappe, marking the culmination of the long-awaited transfer saga that dragged on for years.

The former Paris Saint-Germain player arrived at the club last season, but laboured to adapt to the league’s intensity, taking him months to settle in Spain.

But following his acclimatisation, the 26-year-old never looked back and was rampant in front of the net, recording 44 goals in his debut season at the club, breaking several records.

What’s next for Mbappe?

However, he failed to win a major trophy. Many hopes were placed on Mbappe to lead the club to silverware, but the Madrid team had a season to forget in terms of silverware.

But this season, a new Mbappe will emerge, hoping to finally lift his first major trophy as a Madrid player. With the main objective being to win the UEFA Champions League, Mbappe will be more prepared than ever, positioned as the centre of Madrid’s attacking unit.
