The Spanish league has concluded as the Catalan club won the title.
Barcelona dethroned Real Madrid in their LaLiga title race this season under new manager Hansi Flick. The Catalan club started the season on a strong note, but their dip in performance in the middle of the season saw Madrid go top of the table.
The race went into the final stages of the season, but in their last EL Clásico match, Flick’s side’s victory saw them put the title race to an end as they were confirmed champions.
Leganes, Las Palmas and Real Valladolid relegated
Leganes, Las Palmas and Real Valladolid have been demoted to the second division after all three clubs endured a poor season and couldn’t manage to grind out enough wins that could keep them safe in the league.
Real Betis and Villarreal secure European spot
Despite the sluggish start to the season, Real Betis managed to bounce back in time and part with their brilliant signing of Antony, who was key in their pursuit of a European spot as they finished sixth in the LaLiga table and booked their place in the Europa League next season.
This season, the fifth Champions League spot was handed to LaLiga alongside the Premier League. Villarreal came clutch during the closing stages of the season and finished fifth in the league.
