LaLiga announce three-year partnership with Riyadh Season

Atletico Madrid have also partnered with Riyadh Season.

The Riyadh Season sporting, cultural, and entertainment brand have signed a three-year agreement with LaLiga, the top division of Spanish football.

Through the agreement, the Saudi capital’s Riyadh Season will be an official LaLiga commercial sponsor for the 2024–2025, 2025–2026, and 2026–2027 seasons.

Although LaLiga does not have a special office in Saudi Arabia, it does have one in Dubai. The league views the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region as a crucial location for business expansion.

It’s a massive business for LaLiga who want to expand their league in other countries. Given how football is growing in Saudi, this partnership will be massive for the Spanish top-division league.

Saudi Arabia has hosted the Spanish Super Cup for the past three years. It is said that an agreement has been reached for the four-team mini-competition to remain in the Kingdom until 2029.

Additionally, the Visit Saudi brand sponsored LaLiga last season, the deal is estimated by GlobalData to be worth about $22 million annually.

Meanwhile, major pay-TV provider BeIN Sports broadcasts LaLiga in Saudi Arabia. “Promotional activities for both brands and implement joint initiatives targeting football fans and visitors to Riyadh Season” are aspects of the partnership, according to LaLiga.

Atletico Madrid change their stadium name to Riyadh Air Metropolitano

By purchasing the name rights to Atletico Madrid’s stadium for the ensuing nine years, Saudi Arabia has strengthened its branding campaign with the Spanish team.

Atlético announced on Wednesday that its Metropolitano stadium will continue to be known as the Riyadh Air Metropolitano until 2033. Since the previous season, the team have been financed by Saudi state-owned Riyadh Air.

Atlético did not say how much it was receiving for the new agreement “which makes the Saudi Arabian company the most important sponsor in the club’s history.”

“The final installation of the new name of the stadium on the main, northeast and southeast facades will take place in the next few weeks,” Atlético said.
