Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has suffered a big heartbreak at the age of 18 after he confirmed that he has split up with Argentine singer Nicki Nicole.

Yamal has frequently been in the spotlight with his off-field theatrics, and ever since he started dating Nicole, the pair have become inseparable, with their romance making constant appearances on social media apps.

However, it has not lasted long as the love between the couple has fizzled out, and both have parted ways on a mutual understanding, as confirmed by Yamal.

Speaking to Javi Hoyos on D Corazon (via Sport), Yamal clarified why they broke up and also dismissed any rumours of infidelity as he said:

“We are not together, but has not been because of any infidelity. We have simply separated and that’s it. Everything that is coming out has nothing to do with our relationship. I have not been unfaithful to him nor have I been with another person.”

Yamal’s ascent to a rising star in the sport at a very tender age has seen him always remain on the front pages of the newspaper, both on and off the field.

However, when he started dating the Argentine singer, the player had always remained the centre of attention for all the media channels in Spain and around the globe.

Meanwhile, on the field, he has been inconsistent this season, marred by injuries, as he continues to play with discomfort in his groin injury, which has limited his performance in the matches.

He hopes to return to his top performance like last season, as Barcelona definitely needs their star player this campaign, as they hope to contend for all trophies.

Meanwhile, Yamal will aim to get over the break-up as we enter the second part of the campaign with many crucial games lined up for the Catalan club.
