Lamine Yamal frontrunner to win both Euro 2024 Player of the Tournament & Young Player of the Tournament awards

He arrived at Euro 2024 with an excellent assist to Dani Carvajal in Spain’s opening game against Croatia, which made him the youngest player to register an assist in the major tournament.

However, Yamal hasn’t stopped there and has continued to be a crucial player for Spain from the right, creating problems for the opposition’s defence. His exploits in the event have seen him getting mammoth praises from everywhere.

What makes Yamal unique is that he is very unpredictable and his ability to seamlessly go past defenders puts him as one of the players to look out for. Against France, he finally opened his Euro 2024 goal-scoring account, and in doing so he broke another record, becoming the youngest player to score a goal at Euro.

Yamal will certainly be rewarded for his stately performances throughout the competition, and the 17-year-old is now the favourite to win Euro 2024 Player of the Tournament and Young Player of the Tournament.

It goes without saying that he ought to marry this award because, up until now, fans have mostly expected players like Kylian Mbappe, Cristiano Ronaldo, Jude Bellingham, and Harry Kane to live up to their sensationalism. However, Yamal has proven to be far better than these players by helping his team in winning against teams like Italy, Germany, and France.

However, as of now, neither of those awards will be his focus as his sole priority will be leading Spain to the Euro 2024 Championship trophy for the first time since 2012.
