Lamine Yamal matches Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes' stat in win over Atletico Madrid

The teenager has impressed once again this term
After defeating Atletico Madrid, Barcelona advanced to the Copa del Rey final, thanks to a deft assist from Lamine Yamal. The youngster also tied Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes for the most accurate through balls this season.
Barcelona defeated Atletico Madrid 1-0 in the second leg of the semi-finals at the Metropolitano Stadium, securing a spot in the Copa del Rey final alongside Real Madrid and setting up another classic.
After an exciting 4–4 draw in the first leg, Ferran Torres’ goal in the 27th minute was sufficient to advance Hansi Flick’s team.
One of the outstanding players of the evening was Lamine Yamal, who finished the game with a lavish assist that set up Torres. The 17-year-old equalled the outstanding passing figure of Bruno Fernandes with another direct goal involvement.
According to Opta, with 37 through balls each to their name, Spain international Yamal and Manchester United skipper Fernandes are tied for the most successful through balls this season. No one else in the top five leagues in Europe has that much.
Yamal also trails only Mohamed Salah of Liverpool in terms of assists from open play. In fact, the Egyptian is at the top of the table, and the Barca winger is only five behind him with 17.
After a strong challenge from Atletico defender Clement Lenglet, in which the Frenchman caught the teenager with his studs, Yamal departed the field with a bloodied ankle after playing 87 minutes before being replaced by Gerard Martin in the victory over Atletico.
However, Barca and their head coach Hansi Flick are relieved that no long-term injuries seem to have been sustained.
When Barcelona hosts Real Betis at the Montjuic on Saturday, April 5, the La Masia product will be keen to maintain his impressive play. At the top of the Liga standings, the Catalans are right now three points ahead of their rivals, Real Madrid.
