Rosenior is walking on thin ice after another Blues’ defeat.

Now that Chelsea have sacked Liam Rosenior, there is no turning back. The club are once again in the hunt for a new full-time coach. Calum McFarlane has been named Chelsea’s new head coach until June on an interim basis.

This comes after the Blues suffered a terrible 3-0 loss at Brighton, their fifth consecutive Premier League loss.

The complete lack of an attacking threat was perhaps more worrisome. Chelsea’s only goals since mid-March came against League One team Port Vale, and they have failed to score since that win.

Potential candidates are already receiving more attention. In this article, we look at five managers Chelsea may hire in the summer:

List of managers who can replace Liam Rosenior at Chelsea

RankManagers
5John Terry
4Andoni Iraola
3Oliver Glasner
2 Filipe Luis
1Cesc Fabregas

5. John Terry

A true club icon could be seen as a wise choice if the team decides to concentrate on morale for the rest of the season. The owners are already acquainted with John Terry’s character and professionalism because he is already a part of the club’s youth program.

His strong personality and innate leadership qualities could offset his lack of tactical experience. Terry’s influence could be sufficient to restore some respect to a group that seems to lack resolve.

4. Andoni Iraola

Andoni Iraola, the manager of Bournemouth, is scheduled to depart at the end of the season, just like Glasner. Iraola may choose to depart before the season ends, as the team has already announced Marco Rose as his replacement this week.

With other major European clubs circling, Chelsea would probably need to provide a substantial long-term contract in order to sign him right away. It would be a brave move to choose a manager from a team that is now on par with them.

3. Oliver Glasner

Oliver Glasner might think about leaving Crystal Palace a little earlier, as his departure has already been confirmed for the end of the season. His tenure at Selhurst Park has been exceptional, as evidenced by their FA Cup triumph the previous season.

Manchester United were formerly thought to be the front-runners to sign him, but Michael Carrick’s successful tenure as Old Trafford’s interim manager may have dampened their interest.

A manager with a track record of exceeding expectations in the Premier League would be keen to join Chelsea. He offers the kind of structural stability and tactical organisation that the present team has obviously been lacking.

2. Filipe Luis

When Enzo Maresca was fired in January, Filipe Luis was one of the top candidates, alongside Liam Rosenior, to replace him. He would be the easiest choice because the club’s ownership has already thoroughly investigated his background.

The Brazilian, who left Flamengo in March, is a free agent and may be hired without the club paying a sum to his past team. He also immediately connects with disgruntled Stamford Bridge supporters due to his past as a Chelsea player.

1. Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas‘ Como team is surprisingly contending for a top-four finish in Serie A, where he is producing outstanding results. Even though he is fully dedicated to his project in Italy, he still has a deep emotional bond with Chelsea.

His tactical expertise is considered to be among the best among up-and-coming coaches because he studied under Pep Guardiola. His name is still chanted by Chelsea fans, and his appearance might instantly improve the tense environment around the team. The club’s leadership would have to put in a lot of work to persuade him that now is the ideal time to come back.

When was the last time Chelsea won a match?

They last won on 4th April against Port Vale.

Who is the favourite to become the next Blues manager?

Currently, there are no favourites, but the odds favour Cesc Fabregas.
