The Argentine forward has won two trophies so far with the Herons.
Argentine icon Mario Kempes has given his verdict on Lionel Messiâs time at Inter Miami and says that the former Paris Saint-Germain forward is three times happier at Inter Miami than he was at Barcelona.
Messi who left Barcelona in 2021 joined PSG on a free transfer after the forward failed to get registered due to the clubâs financial woes. Messi spent two years at PSG before once again leaving the club and subsequently joining the Herons for free.
Ever since his signing for Inter Miami, Messi has made a massive impact for them leading them to the League Cup trophy and MLS Supports Shield.
Messi has made a massive difference for David Beckhamâs side, alongside other former Barcelona teammates Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, and Luis Suarez.

Now the only trophy which is left to win for the 2022 World Cup winner is the MLS Cup, as his side was recently eliminated by Atlanta United during the elimination round of the competition.
However, the forward will hope to win it next season. He is certainly enjoying his life in America reveals Mario Kempes. Kempes also said that Messi is much happier than he was at Barcelona, speaking to TNT Sports: âMessi is three times happier playing in Inter Miami than in Barcelona.â
That is said to be because Inter Miami have a âvery good teamâ and Messi can pick and choose his moments to contribute. Kempes added: âItâs not about coming in and having to be focused for the whole 90 minutes. He plays when he wants to.â
Whatâs next for Lionel Messi?
Messi has another 12 months left on his Inter Miami deal and the forward will be back in action once again when the new season starts. However, he also has a choice to extend his contract by another year which will see him play until 2026 and he could also make a decision to participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
