The Red Devils are vying for UEFA Champions League qualification with impressive form this season.
Lisandro Martinez, a centre-back for Manchester United, has resumed individual grass training, which is a significant boost for the Red Devils manager, Michael Carrick.
The Argentine experienced a minor setback, despite nearly recovering from his calf injury. He hasn’t played for Man United since February 10.
Martinez has been doing strength and conditioning exercises in recent weeks, and he is working hard to get back on the field.
Lisandro Martinez returns to grass training ahead of the Leeds United game
Martinez is anticipated to accompany Man United to Dublin for a rigorous training camp following the international break. The defender is making a lot of effort to demonstrate his fitness before the April 13 Premier League matchup with Leeds United.
He has about two weeks to do the task, and few would be shocked if he is picked when the Whites play at Old Trafford.
Given his lack of match fitness, Martinez is unlikely to be used right away, but he might play against Leeds and be more prepared to start games in the upcoming weeks. Carrick could use the Argentine for the next Red Devils’ match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Right now, the Red Devils are one point ahead of Aston Villa in third place and six points above Liverpool, who are in fifth place in the league standings. Carrick is aware that only a successful season finale will increase his chances of landing the position permanently, as nothing is finalised just yet.
