Clubs are securing positions for the UEFA Europa League for next season as this competitive season draws to a dramatic close. The 2025–26 UEL is beginning to take shape, with teams vying for spots from the top five leagues & more, winning the domestic cups, and qualifying for the playoffs.
This year’s Europa League came to an end, with Tottenham Hotspur beating Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United in the final in Bilbao, Spain.
This time, there are different routes to secure a place in the Europa League as well, given that the clubs from top leagues who win their domestic trophies are handed a path to the competition. Crystal Palace secured their place in the tournament after their FA Cup win against Manchester City.
Teams’ association club coefficient rankings determine the stage at which they qualify. Every match is contested over two legs.
Twelve clubs secure their spots through qualifying, concluding in the August play-off round, while thirteen teams advance straight to the Europa League’s league phase.
Hence, the Europa League 2025-26 season is already taking shape, and many clubs have already booked their place in the event for next season.
We still have many matches to go before we learn how many clubs have directly reached the competition. So far from the Premier League, it has been only Palace, after they won the FA Cup.
Meanwhile, other top leagues are yet to confirm many of their clubs’ prospects of securing a place in the event next season. With this, we take a look below at how many teams around the European leagues have secured their berth in the competition for next season.
