Liverpool handed Ibrahima Konate injury boost as centre-back trains with France

The centre-back limped off in the game against Arsenal.
Only a few days after hobbling off during the victory against Arsenal, Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has trained with the French team.
On Sunday, Dominik Szoboszlai scored the gameâs lone goal with an incredible free kick. In that game, Konate was pulled off in the 79th minute, so he watched the winner from the sidelines.
However, the centre-back didnât suffer any serious injury. He only picked up a cramp, and to avoid the player sustaining any ailment, Arne Slot decided to replace him with Joe Gomez.
Arne Slotâs earlier update on Konateâs injury
Arne Slot, the head coach of Liverpool, downplayed the seriousness of the Frenchmanâs injury in his post-match remarks. He had expressed optimism that the scan might yield some encouraging results.
Slot said: âHe thinks it is cramp and I have no reason to doubt him, although sometimes players talk about cramp and then we make a scan and it is more than that.â
Konate expected to play for Les Bleus in World Cup qualifiers
As Les Bleus get ready for a crucial week, Konate, centre-back for Liverpool, joined the France squad on Monday and participated in a practice session on Tuesday, indicating that he is fully fit. He will be hoping to feature in the national team matches in the World Cup qualifiers (WCQ).
