The devastating news that top goalkeeper Alisson Becker will miss the majority of the remainder of the season due to a severe muscular injury was delivered by Liverpool manager Arne Slot.
Prior to the 2-1 Premier League loss to Brighton & Hove Albion before the March international break, the Brazil international, who has struggled with fitness throughout the season, suffered his most recent injury.

Arne Slot delivers Alisson Becker injury update
Slot revealed the unfortunate news that Alisson Becker would be in the treatment room till almost the end of the season during Friday’s pre-game press conference.
“Ali unfortunately isn’t, he will not be part of the Paris Saint-Germain games as well,” Slot said.
“Towards the end of the season we expect him to be fit again.”
In Alisson’s absence, Giorgi Mamardashvili will remain in goal, while Freddie Woodman will take over as number two during the coming weeks.

Although the Alisson news was disheartening, Mohamed Salah and Jeremie Frimpong are both anticipated to be available for the trip to Manchester City, making Liverpool’s overall injury situation more optimistic.
Alexander Isak, a long-term leg injury casualty, has returned to team training after suffering a fracture in December. Slot did not rule out the possibility that the £125 million attacker would start on the bench at Etihad.
