Isak, Gakpo, Wirtz & more - Arne Slot issues Liverpool injury news ahead of Wolves Premier League clash
The Swedish international is out with a serious injury.
Alexander Isak, a Swedish international, will miss a “couple of months” due to a broken leg sustained during Liverpool’s victory over Tottenham on Saturday, according to manager Arne Slot. The striker had surgery after breaking his left leg.
After coming off the bench at halftime against Spurs, Alexander Isak scored a beautiful goal in 11 minutes of his involvement to put his team ahead. However, as he was getting his shot, Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven collided with him, injuring him in the process.
With the assistance of two members of Liverpool’s medical staff, he hobbled off the field, and Jeremie Frimpong took his place.

Slot comments on the extent of Alexander Isak’s injury
Before Liverpool’s Premier League match against Wolves this coming Saturday, Slot was questioned about Alexander Isak during his pre-match press conference.
The Dutchman then clarified:
“It’s going to be a long injury, a couple of months. That’s a big, big, big disappointment for him and also for us. I’m confident he can [play a part in the back end of the season]. It’s been a really challenging and difficult period for him.“
Hugo Ekitike, who moved to Anfield in the summer and has scored his 11th goal this season, will be Slot’s main source of support in the upcoming weeks due to Alexander Isak’s absence.
Other Liverpool injury update
Conor Bradley and Cody Gakpo are rated as “50-50” by Slot, while Wataru Endo and Joe Gomez will miss Wolves‘ visit owing to their separate fitness concerns.
Slot explained: “Conor will be 50-50. He’s not training with us today, not tomorrow, so Friday we will see exactly where he is [and] if he can be in the squad for the weekend. Joe won’t be available, Wata won’t be available [and] Cody is a bit similar to Conor.”
Florian Wirtz’s fitness fears were allayed by Slot, though, as the No. 7 is still in the running for the game.
When asked if the playmaker would be available, he replied: “Yes. Another example of a player who has to play a lot and is adjusting better and better and better to the Premier League.“
