Liverpool injury news ahead of Chelsea clash; Alisson Becker out

The Reds are set to face a tough side on return from October break.
Premier League football will return to Anfield on Sunday afternoon when table-toppers Liverpool host Chelsea at their Merseyside headquarters for this weekend’s main match.
With a fantastic 18 points from a possible 21 under Arne Slot, the Reds entered the international break one point ahead of both Manchester City and Arsenal at the summit of the table.
Liverpool maintained their perfect away performance for the 2024–25 season with a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace in their final match before the two-week break, thanks to a goal by Diogo Jota.
However, now they will enter an important period of the month. They are set to face many big sides that will test Liverpool under the new head coach.
Liverpool injury news ahead of Chelsea game
Liverpool have enjoyed an impressive run of matches under the new head coach. The Reds will once again hope to continue that when they face Chelsea next.
They don’t have a major injury crisis this season. Their only crucial player to have suffered an injury is goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who might be out for a long time.
Alisson, who has been beset by ailments for the previous two years, suffered a serious hamstring issue. It is projected to keep him out until late November, which was a major blot in the Palace victory record.
Federico Chiesa’s availability for the weekend is in question because he sustained an unexplained injury prior to the 2-0 Champions League victory over Bologna. He did not get called up to the Italy squad for the October games also.
As he continues to recuperate from his foot injury sustained in September, Harvey Elliott is already jogging outside once again. Although Elliott won’t be ready for Sunday’s game, a return before the end of the month is still possible.
