The Reds will miss two key players for the upcoming match.
Prior to Liverpool’s matchup against Manchester United, Arne Slot gave an update on Mohamed Salah’s injury. On Sunday, the Reds take on their bitter rivals at Old Trafford; a win would propel them to third place in the standings.
Salah, who declared he will leave Liverpool at the end of the current campaign, is nearing the end of his nine-year career. More than any other team in his career, he has scored 16 goals against United.
However, he suffered a hamstring injury during last weekend’s 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace and is likely to miss the fixture as he won’t be able to recover on time ahead of the game.
Salah’s planned involvement in Liverpool’s final stretch has now been verified, and Slot has provided the most recent information on the departing club legend.
Arne Slot provides update on Alisson and Salah injury progress
Mohamed Salah will miss his final game versus United due to a slight ailment. The manager of Liverpool stated:
“As we know from Mo, always working incredibly hard. Usually he is earlier fit than other players from a minor injury but not for Sunday.”
Due to a hamstring injury, No. 1 goalkeeper Alisson Becker has missed the last seven games. Due to a serious injury, Giorgi Mamardashvili was also unable to play versus Palace, leaving third-choice goalkeeper Freddie Woodman in goal.
Regarding Alisson possibly returning, Slot stated:

“It’s a bonus for every player that comes back. Ali hasn’t trained yet, very close to training so I have to speak to medical staff. He is very close but we, of course, don’t want to take any risks because that’s not what you want for any player.”
When will Mohamed Salah return?
He could return in time for the next game.
When will the Reds play United?
They will play them on 3rd May.
Where do they stand in the PL table?
