Liverpool join rivals Manchester United in race for Japanese star Takefusa Kubo

Takefusa Kubo has made waves for the LaLiga club this season
Real Sociedad and Liverpool have communicated on a potential transfer for Takefusa Kubo, a 22-year-old Japanese right winger.
Manchester United and Liverpool, two of the biggest teams in the Premier League, are interested in Takefusa Kubo, the Japanese sensation who is creating waves at Real Sociedad. Thanks to his skilful performance and exciting on-field personality, Kubo has become a highly sought-after player in European football.
According to reports, both teams are interested in the winger as they make plans for the future. Liverpool sees him as Mohamed Salah’s long-term replacement, while United sees him as a possible improvement over Antony.
Kubo’s journey in football is just as intriguing as his on-field performance. He began his career in Japan and soon relocated to Barcelona’s renowned La Masia programme, where he flourished, but had to return to his home country because of FIFA laws. Kubo returned to Europe quickly because of his outstanding potential.

Kubo is an excellent team player who can score from a distance or break defences with his accurate passing because of his vision and selflessness. He is a valuable asset to any club because of his work ethic and pressing skills, which match the demands of contemporary games.
But with reports of Saudi Arabia’s increased interest, and with Jurgen Klopp confirming his departure at the conclusion of the season, it might be the perfect time for Salah to leave as well.
Michael Emenalo, the director of football for the Saudi Pro League, even made a suggestion in December that Salah would probably return if they wanted to make him the league’s face.
Signing Real Sociedad’s Kubo would be one option for them to fill the potential void left by Salah. According to the Spanish publication Fichajes, Liverpool is “prepared to begin an offensive” for the Japan international and is currently in “attack mode” in advance of the summer.
