The Egyptian has 50 goal involvements this season.

Mohamed Salah, a forward for Liverpool, has accomplished an incredible feat, tying a record that Lionel Messi held for ten years. This season, the Egyptian forward scored and assisted in the Reds’ 2-0 win over Manchester City, which was the 11th time the player had an assist and a goal in a match.

Salah’s goal-scoring prowess is still evident with his most recent goal against Manchester City occurring just 14 minutes into the game at the Etihad Stadium.

A skillfully performed corner routine by Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai led to the goal. With the help of a small deflection from Nathan Ake’s boot, Salah skillfully completed a first-time shot after Szoboszlai flicked Mac Allister’s low pass.

He now has 25 Premier League goals this season, which is just seven goals less than the 32 he scored in his first season with Liverpool. In addition, it was Salah’s 30th goal for the team this season in all competitions, extending his incredible play for the 2024–2025 campaign.

In addition to his own objective, Salah was instrumental in the development of another. To further highlight his all-around contributions to Liverpool’s attacking approach, he assisted Dominik Szoboszlai, who netted a well-taken goal prior to halftime.

Salah has already scored and assisted in 11 matches in a row which is uncommon in Europe’s top five leagues since Lionel Messi’s 2014–15 campaign.

This is a significant feat he has achieved in his career. Equalling Messi’s record can be seen as one of the biggest steps in anyone’s career given it was bread and butter for the Argentine during his heyday.

In addition to marking his 387th Liverpool appearance, the Egyptian’s goal versus City highlighted how important he is to the team. Salah is on target to surpass the 44 goals he scored in his first season at Anfield, which saw Liverpool reach the Champions League final.
