LOSC Lille express interest in signing free agent Dele Alli

The former Spurs forward has not played football in nearly two years.
French club Lille are showing interest in signing former Tottenham Hotspur forward Dele Alli, according to MailSport. The player is still training with Everton despite being a free agent.
Alli has not kicked a ball in almost two years, as his last action was in February 2023 during a brief loan spell at Turkish club Besiktas. This is a massive pause in his career from sports, but the player believes he can still get his career back on track.
Alli also didn’t play last season due to a long-term thigh injury, but now he is training to remain fit and return to action soon.
Dele’s downfall in his football career has been sad to witness given how talented he was when Mauricio Pochettino nurtured him into a star boy as he went on to explode onto the scene and led Spurs to the Champions League final in 2019.
However, after that, everything went downhill in north London when Jose Mourinho arrived. Alli’s from being a poster boy; he became an outcast for the club.
Since then he has been struggling to even play football, as his time at Everton was a failure, and at Besiktas as well. Now he is training with the Toffees, and it looks unlikely that he will continue to play for them this season.
Lille might provide him with another chance to revive his career as he is 28 and still has many years left to play in his football career. However, currently it looks uncertain given the Ligue 1 club has only shown interest.
Until then Alli will continue to train with Everton, and if the Premier League feels he can make a difference for them, then maybe he will get a chance this season to prove his mettle in the league.
He still has all the talent and he will need a chance to demonstrate his qualities for any club. Everton have given him a chance to prove his fitness before he gets a nod to play for the club in league matches.
