The Croatian will definitely strengthen the midfield of Milan.
Luka Modrić is prepared to sign a one-year contract with AC Milan, per the most recent rumour from La Repubblica.
Luka Modric, a midfielder who will soon be a free agent after leaving Real Madrid, is a target of the Milan team. After 14 years in the Spanish capital city, the 39-year-old declared last month that he will be leaving the club.
The Serie A team is considering a move for the Croatian international, who has not yet determined his next club. Other teams are also anticipated to show a great degree of interest in him.
Since joining Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012, Modric has played 591 games, scored 43 goals and taken home 26 titles. Four LaLiga championships are among those trophies. He has even led his team to a record-tying six Champions League trophies.
Luka Modric became the first player aside from Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo to win the Ballon d’Or since Kaka in 2007. His role in Madrid’s Champions League triumph in 2017–18 and his pivotal part in Croatia’s route to the World Cup final in Russia played a major part in that award win.
Croatia will play Gibraltar on June 6 and Czechia on June 9 in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.
On June 18, Real Madrid face Al-Hilal of the Saudi Pro League to kick off their 2025 FIFA Club World Cup campaign. Before playing RB Salzburg on June 26 to end their group stage campaign, they also play the Mexican team Pachuca on June 22.
Luka Modric is a top summer window priority for Massimiliano Allegri, the recently reappointed manager. Igli Tare, the club director, is also in favour of the move. The Croatian’s name has been frequently mentioned in internal conversations.
Despite his advanced age, Modric (39) is seen as a player who can provide immediate midfield quality in addition to leadership and experience.
Milan have a clear advantage because of Modric’s own aspirations. Saudi Arabian teams made generous offers, but the seasoned midfield player declined them.
