The Three Lions lead Group C with four points.

The full-back Luke Shaw of Manchester United, who missed the majority of his team’s 2023–24 season owing to injury, was named in the 26-man England squad for Euro 2024. The defender was chosen by Gareth Southgate with the understanding that he would be able to play a part in some of England’s Euro matches, even if not for ninety minutes.

Shaw, on the other hand, has not been able to reach his maximum level of fitness because he was discovered working out on his own, apart from the rest of the crew at Blankenhain.

The 28-year-old was left off of the game day team on Thursday after skipping practice the night before the Three Lions’ second group match of the week against Denmark. The right-footed full-back Keiran Trippier of Newcastle United started as the left-back in Shaw’s place.

Harry Kane‘s goal gave Southgate’s team the lead, but they only managed to pick up one point against the Danes, a performance that has earned them a lot of criticism.

On Tuesday night, the Three Lions will resume their campaign with the goal of defeating Slovenia and securing their place in the knockout stage as Group C winners. Shaw, though, is still sceptical about the match.

Goalie coach Martyn Margetson photographed with Jordan Pickford, Tom Heaton and Dean Henderson after England gave up their first goal of the competition against Denmark thanks to a long-range strike from Morten Hjulmand.

In images from the practice, players battling it out to get into the Three Lions’ midfield included Adam Wharton and Conor Galagher.

Following the draw with Denmark, Southgate acknowledged that Trent Alexander-Arnold had been placed in the position as an “experiment” which is now probably ended following two early changes.
