Salah made some gruelling remarks following Liverpoolâs 3-3 draw with Leeds United.
Wayne Rooney, a veteran of Manchester United, claims that Mohamed Salah is at risk of âdestroying his legacyâ at Liverpool after the Egyptian superstar launched an impassioned tirade against the Reds.
Rooney asserts that the Anfield legend is acting out of order. This is despite Salahâs accusations that the Premier League heavyweights are âthrowing him under the busâ and that his achievements over the years deserve more recognition.
With 250 goals for Liverpool in 420 games, Salah has become a legend on Merseyside. Along the way, he achieved two domestic championships and a UEFA Champions League trophy with the Reds, additionally earning Golden Boot and PFA Player of the Year awards.
In the summer of 2025, Salah signed a new two-year deal, bringing his total service to ten years of devoted service for the Reds. It is now being questioned if he will survive past January 2026.
Mohamed Salah said that his professional relationship with Arne Slot has broken down after being benched for the third straight game and allowed to watch as Liverpool wasted two more points in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Leeds. Before leaving for Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) duty, he has hinted at saying goodbye to Reds supporters at a home match against Brighton on Saturday.

âHe is absolutely destroying his legacy at Liverpool. It would be sad for him to throw it all away. Heâs gone about it all wrong.â
At his pre-match press conference in Italy, Arne Slot will probably be questioned about the matter. The Dutch strategist has another battle ahead of him after the current Premier League winners have struggled for consistency as a team.
