Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias are out injured.

Marc Guehi, the captain of Crystal Palace, is being pursued by Manchester City in the winter window following injuries to their defensive duo.

After defenders Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias sustained injuries during Sunday’s draw against Chelsea, BBC Sport revealed that City are considering a bid for the England centre-back.

John Stones, a centre back for England, is presently sidelined due to an injury.

Before deciding whether to move forward with their interest in Marc Guehi during the current transfer window, City will wait to learn the full extent of Gvardiol and Dias’ injuries.

However, according to BBC Sport, City’s interest in the 25-year-old Marc Guehi has advanced, and a January transfer should not be ruled out.

Max Alleyne, a defender from City’s academy who was on loan at Watford in the EFL Championship, has been called back by the team. He may play in Wednesday’s Premier League match against Brighton.

The 20-year-old, son of former England cricketer and current Gloucestershire manager Mark Alleyne, joined the Hornets on a season-long loan. He made 17 appearances before it was cut short as City attempted to address their mounting defensive injury crisis.

Manager Pep Guardiola told BBC Radio 5 Live that “it doesn’t look good” for Dias and Gvardiol and that they might be out “for a few weeks” following the match with Chelsea, in which City gave up an equaliser in injury time.

The Spaniard added: “We have a lot [of injuries]. John Stones is missing for I don’t know how many months. Ruben now will be out, Josko will be out.”

“Nathan [Ake], always we know he cannot play regularly. It’s the situation – stay strong and we will find a solution.”

“The spirit is there and will be there.”
